Couch Potato

Last month I contributed an illustration to The Parabola Project which pairs writers with imagemakers to create a very special and beautifully designed anthology of work.
My illustration accompanies an extract from Alan Robinson's 'The Studio Couch'. Set in the Northeast in 1959 it tells the story of the disintegration of a family following the Father's affair.

Yellow is usually my sworn enemy so I balked when told the Pantone colour chosen for this issue was mustard, but this shade and I got on ok in the end. I never pass up a chance to sneak a framed portrait of an ugly kid into an illustration.

You can buy it here!

  1. This is awesome! I love the framed portraits and the pattern on the wall. It's great that you ended up liking this shade of yellow okay afterall. I think the black, white, and yellow look great together! :)
