Bust Magazine

I have an illustration in the latest issue of the amazing Bust magazine. It accompanies an article about gender discrimination in High School Football. Was very excited to see Krysten Ritter was on the cover, as a fellow googly eyed girl I'm slightly in love with her.

Here's the image above along with an alternative rough, just because I like the guy's face on the right hand side-goofy.

Zizzi Meeting Rooms

This week I was holed up in the Zizzi head office working on a mural for one of their newly refurbished meeting rooms alongside a few other artists. Each room was themed around a specific colour. I was given (a very bright!) orange so in a stroke of creative genius I based my narrative around....oranges. I know right? Inspired.

I had a really good time completing it though and spent a very nerdy four days obsessing over it-enjoy!

Zizzi Woking

Hello! The past three days I've been working on two new walls for the refurbished Zizzi restaurant in Woking-here's some (blurry) photos! The wall of trees took a day and a mild case of vertigo to complete, it was also completely freehand. The illustrated wall was based on the large Italian community who reside in Woking, many of whom immigrated from Sicily and began to work in the nearby mushroom fields in Chobham.

The mural was tough work, a mixture of paint and posca pen which looks deceptively simple but was actually composed of a number of overlapping elements, I really took to the colour scheme applied throughout though. Large scale jobs are always fun, there's something hugely satisfying about slapping large quantities of emulsion onto freshly painted walls-ahh-and I was really happy with how everything turned out, the staff were incredibly friendly too!
