Hello! The past three days I've been working on two new walls for the refurbished
Zizzi restaurant in
Woking-here's some (blurry) photos! The wall of trees took a day and a mild case of vertigo to complete, it was also completely freehand. The illustrated wall was based on the large Italian community who reside in
Woking, many of whom immigrated from Sicily and began to work in the nearby mushroom fields in
Chobham.
The mural was tough work, a mixture of paint and
posca pen which looks deceptively simple but was actually composed of a number of overlapping elements, I really took to the colour scheme applied throughout though. Large scale jobs are always fun, there's something hugely satisfying about slapping large quantities of emulsion onto freshly painted walls-
ahh-and I was really happy with how everything turned out, the staff were incredibly friendly too!
